Music Festival | Liberation Tech Symposium

RESISTDANCE is an art collective and think tank that uses music and fashion as a Trojan horse to embed liberation into pop culture.

The original Rainbow Coalition in Chicago, led by the Black Panther Party, united the people across racial lines. Whites, Blacks, Puerto Rican, and United Farm Workers led by Cesar Chavez came together. Only unity will prevail against the threats we are currently facing.
Tools we use: art, music, technology, fashion.
Learn more about our work with some of the original Black Panthers in Oakland.
We are a group of citizens, artists, and troublemakers born and raised in the SF Bay Area. We were (re)born in Oakland, the birthplace of the Black Panther Party and the original home of ResistDance in August 2025.
Some of us come from privilege. Some have overcome domestic violence, police brutality, and solitary confinement. We are white, black, brown, straight, queer, Jewish, Palestinian, Muslim, Christian, neurodivergent, "gifted", and living with disability. One thing we share is a belief that none of us are free until we are all free.
This summer, we partnered on several events in honor of Black August with some Black Panthers, Panther Cubs and prison reform activists.
At Lake Merritt and West Oakland's Self-Help Hunger Program, the prototype for ResistDance was born: donation-based, live music, hip hop, dance music, activist speakers. Entirely self-funded.
We produced a music festival on San Francisco's Treasure Island with over 1000 participants.
